Time for a change

The living standard of many ordinary people in Singapore has deteriorated over the past two decades.

The cost of living has increased sharply in recent years and secure and well paying jobs are difficult to find nowadays.

Meanwhile, foreigners are being allowed into the country in large numbers. They take the good paying jobs, leaving large numbers of our locals to accept low paying and part time jobs, just to make a living.

The irony is that the local males have to serve full time and reservist national service for many years, placing them at a disadvantage against the foreigners in the competition for good jobs.

Many ordinary people now find that the cost of housing is getting beyond their reach. Cost of transport is getting more expensive with continuing increases in the COE and ERP charges. This is especially difficult for people who use a commercial vehicle to make a living.

It is “Time for a change”. We need a government that can introduce new policies to make life better for the ordinary people. We need a government that can focus on reducing the cost of living, make housing affordable, and make jobs secure and pay well.

The ordinary people also need to elect dedicated and sincere leaders who are willing to speak out boldly and be their “voice in Parliament”

In spite of the current difficulties and challenges faced in Singapore, there is still hope for the future. But that hope can only come when there is a change in the way that the country has been governed. It is “Time for a change”.
