How to control drones in a drone light show

Do you know how several tens or hundreds of drones are coordinated to create a drone light show?

I did some research and found the answer.

1. Each drone has to be individually controlled to flight to a certain height and position and to move and change their light during the show.

2. The light show is generated by a software, which calculates the position and light for each drone in each time frame.

3. The visual can be seen on a 3 D digital display and changes can be made, when necessary.

4. The data for each individual drone is downloaded form the software and uploaded to each drone.

5. The show is started by a master "on" switch. The drones all fly off to their positions in the sky and follow the movements and light display stored in their memory.

6. At the end of the show, all the drones return to the spot that they took off (which they remembered).

I think that I have described the technology correctly. Do you agree?

I agree but there should also be additional traffic management software to prevent collision during flight
