Ministry of Transport Revamp of the bus services
I suggest that the bus services be revamped as follows:

a) Provide feeder services to bring residents to the nearby town centers, bus interchanges and MRT stations and other locations within the town. The feeder services run on interval of 3 minutes or less.

b) Provide inter town express services that run mainly on the expressways. They do not stop along the way to pick up passengers. They provide an alternative to the MRT system for long distance travel and can form a backup when the MRT lines break down.

Most passengers walk or take a feeder service to the MRT or bus interchange. They change to the MRT or inter-town service. At the destination, the passenger walk or change to a feeder service. 

While this arrangement may require two transfers, the travel time is shorter.
