Covid-19 crisis

Will omicron bring an end to the pandemic?
The Spanish flu started in 2018 and ended by the summer of 2019, as those who have been infected by it had died or developed immunity.

The duration of the pandemic was less than two years.

The article also gave the durations of other pandemics. It seems that two years is the norm.

I expect, and this is just a speculation, that the covid-19 pandemic will come to an end soon.

The pandemic started in December 2019 and is now in the later part of its second year.

The delta variant was quite transmissive and has reached a large part of the global population (except for countries that implemented strict lockdown measures).

We are now seeing the omicron variant which is even more transmissive than delta. I recall an article that say that it is 5 times more transmissive.

The expert say that as a virus mutates to be more transmissive, it becomes less harmful.

I hope that the omicron variant will see the end of the pandemic. If not, maybe the next variant will do the job.

Already, some countries, such as India, Indonesia and Japan, appear to have reached herd immunity.

There will be light at the end of the tunnel soon.

This is just my speculation. I do not have data or a PHD certificate to back me up.

But I have the internet (to get relevant information), my common sense and sense of humor.

Hehehe.
