Covid-19 crisis
Impractical covid restrictions
A few days ago, the task force allowed up to 5 people from the same household.
This was an impractical and unnecessary relaxation. It caused a lot of trouble for the food outlets to administer this ruling.
Some members of the same family live in different households.
Furthermore, if it was so troublesome, it would be better for the diners to order the food to be delivered to their homes.
I describe this relaxation as counter productive. It cause a lot of trouble, but is of little practical use.
This has now been changed. A further relaxation allows up to 5 diners who are all vaccinated. There is no need to check that they are from the same household.
There was another exemption that was quite useless. It allows an unvaccinated person to take a rapid test to dine in the outlets.
I suspect that few people would spend $15 to take the test and show it to the outlets.
This is another impractical measure. It will be removed from 1 January 2022.
I wonder why the people in charge write these crazy rules that are troublesome and costly to administer, and they do not serve any practical purpose.
They appear to lack common sense.
