Covid-19 crisis
Moving towards the endemic phase
MTF (aka WTF) relied on a high vaccination rate to enter into the endemic phase.
Other countries did also, e.g. Israel and Australia. But SG seemed to have got it worse than the other countries.
Here are some data:
Deaths during the past 7 days per million of population
Singapore - 15
Israel - 5
Australia - 4
There is something wrong with the way SG approaches it.
What is it?
It appears that the protocols on safe entry, mass testing, contact tracing could be at fault. The other countries do not have these protocols. These protocols bring up too many mild cases.
The home recovery and isolation are counter productive. Instead of focusing on the sick people, we divert attention to deal with the mild cases.
I wonder if this is the main reason, or there are other factors at play.
Another possible reason is that SG is more densely populated than the other countries and the virus spreads faster in this environment.
I believe that this does play a part, but it should not account for the big difference in the death rate.

I think we have been protecting the vulnerable from the very beginning, now that the protection has been partially lifted, they are now facing the impact.
