America Wave of refugees from Afghanistan
There is a large wave of Afghan people who wanted to leave Afghanistan for other countries. 

The media portrayed this exodus as fear and distrust of the Taliban that has taken control of Afghanistan.

This probably has some truth. 

However, we must not overlook another reason.

Afghanistan is a poor country. It will take many years for the country to develop its economy and society to give a better life for its people.

Many Afghans will grap the opportunity to move to a developed country where they can have a better standard of living. 

The withdrawal of the US forces and the mayhem that followed the change of government provides this opportunity for the better educated Afghans to migrate to a developed country. 

It is understandable that many of them will want to grab this opportunity.

Those who do not have the opportunity will have to remain in Afghanistan. It does not mean that they will have a bad future.

It may take a longer time, but there is hope that the living conditions will improve under the new government.
