Covid-19 crisis

Why is the covid virus harmful in some countries but mild in Singapore?
I want to put forward a hypothesis. This is based on my observations.

When the covid virus was first detected in Wuhan, China, it was very harmful. Many people were hospitalized and need oxygen and intensive care treatment. Many died.

When the covid virus went to Europe and America, it had the same result. Many people had severe illness and died.

Strangely, that virus did not cause much harm in the warm climates.

The latest variant of the virus caused many severe illness and deaths in India and a few other countries with warm climates. But it did not seem to cause much harm in America and Europe.

My first observation is that the different variants of the virus are harmful in different types of climates.

I have a second observation. When the virus first appears in a region, it was very harmful. After a few months, that virus become less harmful. Perhaps the people have developed immunity against that virus after a few months.

Many vaccination helps. But without vaccination, the body would also have developed some form of immunity.

My third observation concerns Singapore. Why is the latest variant virus less harmful here, compared to other countries with warm climates?

I believe that we are able to detect the virus early and take correction action. We are a small country with good hygiene and health facilities.

By detecting the infection early, we can take action to deal with it. The virus does not become more harmful after it remains in the host for a few days and weeks.

If my hypothesis is correct, we do not need to worry too much about the spread of the infection which are mostly mild. We should pay attention to the cases that have become more severe and act at that time. There is still plenty of time to correct the deal with the problem.

We do not need to impose restrictions to stop the spread of the virus. Instead, we should be vigilant and detect the infection cases that are more severe.

I am aware that my hypothesis and observation may be wrong. I keep an open mind and look for further evidence as they develop.
