Difficult to read an encrypted PDF
I recontract my services with Starhub.

They sent the service agreement to me in an encyrpted PDF. I have to decyrpt it with a complicated password comprising of a part of my NRIC and a part of my date of birth.

I failed to decrypt the PDF a few times. I mixed up the order of the day and month of birth. Finally I succeeded. I managed to read the PDF.

Later, I tried to read the PDF again. I found that I still have to go through the decryption. I forgot the formula that was used to encrypt it.

The PDF becomes unreadable in my PC.

I find it ridiculous for Starhub to use this complicated password and for the document to remain encyrpted.

This has been going on for many years. In the past, I also failed to decrypt the PDF and to read the service agreement.

I hope that Starhub will simplify its process and make it easy for customer to read the service agreement. They can send it unencrypted or use the NRIC or mobile phone number to encrypt it. The customer will be able to remember it.

I find that some banks also use this complicated password format. I wonder if this is mandated by the government?
