Difficult to complete an online nomination form
My friend shared his experience in completing an online nomination form for his CPF savings.

He signed in to the CPF website with his SingPass. He had to complete 8 pages of the nomination form. He found it to be very difficult and troublesome.

He gave up before completing the form.

He called CPF hotline. They told him that he could submit a two page manual form at the CPF branch office. My friend opted to use the manual process.

The CPF staff told him that most CPF members found it easier to use the manual process.

The CPF staff could act as their witnesses also.

My friend asked - why does CPF offer an online form comprising of 8 pages when the manual form only require 2 pages?

Here is my suggestion on how CPF can improve its online form.

1.  Do not show the form in 8 pages. Instead show them in 1 long page. This allows the member to see all the information that is required in 1 page, rather than in 8 small pages that required the member to move from one page to another.

2. For the online nomination form, there is no need for witnesses. The person, who uses his (or her) SingPass, is already identified to be the rightful person. CPF could follow up with a telephone call or email notification to get the member to confirm the nomination.

I hope that CPF Board will consider this suggestion and improve its online nomination process.
