Out of the box A positive and helpful attitude
I want to share this story about a colleague, Mr. K, who has a positive and helpful attitude. 

It happened about 15 to 20 years ago. I was in an in-company conference, and there was something urgent and difficult to deal with. 

I asked Mr. K if he can handle it. He replied - yes. I asked him how he intended to deal with it, as it seemed to be quite problematic. He replied - Mr. Tan, leave it to me.

Mr. K solved the problem. I was relieved of having to deal with the details.

Why do I share this story?

The common reaction of most people that I dealt with was:

a) They are afraid to accept the responsibility in case something went wrong.
b) They exaggerate the problems and involved the boss with more details than was necessary.

Mr. K was different. He was exceptional. He knew that his boss had other matters to attend to, and it was his duty to find the solution without troubling the boss.

I hope that this story will be helpful to change the attitude of many people.
