Economy after the pandemic

Will international travel and tourism recover after the pandemic?
The pandemic will be over by mid 2021 or earlier. It may die off naturally or a vaccine will be found.

It is likely that international travel and tourism will resume.

But I do not expect it to return to the level that occurred prior to the pandemic. Here are my reasons:

a) There will be some lingering fear that reduces international travel.

b) With more exposure to the internet, partly due to the lockdown in many countries, people will realize that they can visit other countries virtually, by viewing videos on YouTube. There is less need for travel

c) They can also find tasty food from other countries in the restaurants back home.

Maybe, international travel and tourism could drop 10% to 30% from previous levels, even after the pandemic is over. Airline and hotel shares will recover from the depressed levels but will not return to their previous highs.

This is not good news for Singapore, which depends on international travel. But it is not disaster either.
