The latest estimate of the High Speed Rail between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur is RM 100 billion (US $21.5 billion). This works out to $61 million per km. 

The cost of the Jakarta Bandung HSR (142 km) is $50 million per km. 

The HSR between Los Angeles and Las Vegas (350 km) is $100 million per km. 

The proposed HSR between Los Angeles and San Francisco (805 km) is estimated to cost $105 billion or $130 million per km.

Generally, the cost of infrastructure in the US is more than twice of the cost in Asian countries.
