Integrate fare systems earlier than 2030
In the parliamentary debate on the SimplyGo fare system, a few useful suggestions were brought up.

One MP suggested that there was no need to delay the integration of the fare systems until 2030. It should be possible to achieve the integration within a year, by improving the current SimplyGo system. This will reduce the cost of continuing with the three separate fare systems, which was estimated to be $40 million.

I agree with this suggestion.

The minister for transport also said that more machines will be installed at MRT stations to allow commuters to check the fare deductions.

I suggest that these machines provide only a single function. They will be easy for commuters to use and inexpensive. These machines can also be installed at bus interchanges.

The minister also said that the SimplyGo system can display the fare deduction at the fare gantry when the traffic is light.

I suggest that the fare deduction and balance be displayed whenever it was possible to be displayed within the allowed time.

The minister also said that there are plans to make the SimplyGo card as a universal card for transport, retail and car related payments.

I suggest that the integration of the gate system be carried out as soon as possible, as the need for commuters to see the date deduction and card balance can be addressed with the modifications.

This will allow the SimplyGo card to be used earlier as a universal card.
