Tan Kin Lian - Perspectives Big problems facing Singapore

I am convinced that the big problems facing Singapore will never be solved under the PAP government.

1) High cost of living
2) High cost of housing
3) Low birth rate
4) Insecure jobs
5) High stress
6) Loss of Singapore identity.

These big problems affect different people in different ways. The top 30% will get along fine. The middle 50% will struggle. The last 20% will rely on handouts, but they will still struggle.

Even if the PAP government decides to change some of the policies that contributed to these problems, they do not know how to make the changes. They are likely to mess up, and make matters worse. So, they maintain the status quo.

This is sad. Singapore used to be an excellent model of good governance. We have lost this distinction.
