Tan Kin Lian - Investment Journey My investment in Tesla
I held 6,000 shares in Tesla. 

The financial results for Q3 of 2023 will be released on 18 October. I expect the earnings to be disappointing, due to lower average selling price and margin.

I expect the US economy and stock market to face several difficulties in the months ahead for the reasons that I set out in a separate post.  

I sold 3,500 shares of Tesla at an average price of $249 on the opening of the market last night. Unfortunately, the timing was bad. The stock price of Tesla rebounded last night due mainly to short covering. The price closed at $261. 

I lost a potential gain of $12 X 3,500 = $42,000 USD ($58,600 SGD). It was sad. 

My remaining holding in Tesla is 2,500 X $261 = $652,000 USD ($894,000).
