Why does Xi Jinping remove his rivals?
Xi Jinping removed his rivals from the Politburo of the Communist Party of China elected at the recent 20th congress.

Does this reflect a tendency towards consolidation of his personal power? By removing qualified people, will he weaken the leadership in the process?

Here are my views:

a) It would be better for him to use the most experienced and qualified people in the leadership and not engaged in personal rivalry.

b) He needs a team of people who are able to work with him to solve the challenges facing the country. He should not be distracted by people who have a different approach and personal agenda.

c) China has sufficient people with required experience and capability to take over from the replaced leaders .

d) China needs to build a team of leaders that will take over from XJP after 5 or 10 years.

After considering the above points, I have to trust the integrity and judgment of XJP in making the drastic changes.
