Is Xi Jinping getting rid of rivals?
The western media spin a narrative that President Xi Jinping (XJP) of China wants absolute control of the country, and get rid of his rivals.

Is this a fair narrative?

When XJP assumed power in 2012, he removed his rivals from the party. The most notable rival was Bo Xilai. Here is a report from BBC regarding this event.

The question was - did XJP remove Bo Xilai because he was a rival to his power, or was Bo Xilai removed for his corrupt practices?

We will never know the truth. Different people will have their own opinion. The arrogant ones will give a strong opinion and make it appear that their opinion is correct.

Perhaps, this question is not important.

The important question is - what happens afterwards.

The following points appear to be quite clear:

a) XJP does not enrich himself or his family.

b) China has reduced corruption at the different levels of the government due to the crackdown on corruption that is directed by XJP.

c) China has increased the living standard of the people during the following 10 years and brought 100 million people out of poverty.

d) XJP is highly popular among the people. The China government has the high trust of the people.

This is my conclusion.

a) XJP would not have achieved the significant progress for China and for the living standards of the people, if he has to spent a large part of his time on infighting with his rivals in the party.

b) To solve its big problems, a country needs a strong leader and a strong team behind the leader.
