Monetary Auth of Singapore Pay Now VPA is not working
Grab Pay said that I can top up my Grab wallet using Pay Now VPA (virtual payment access).

I went to my bank app, as instructed, to make a payment. I had earlier registered a VPA for this top up.

For the past month, I keep receiving a message - There was an unexpected error. Please try again later.

I brought this matter to the attention of my DBS officer (the RM assigned to look after my account). She checked with the technical team and said that this was an issue with the VPA and that it would be resolved next year.

Wow. That is 6 months time.

In the meantime, I have to top up with a bank card, where Grab impose a top up fee of $1. There are some cards where the fee is waived. It is quite complicated to read the table of fees.

My DBS bank app now remove the setting up of the VPA code.

Actually, the VPA process should be quite straight forward. I wonder why DBS, Association of Banks and MAS had so much trouble to implement it.
