Trouble faced in topping up a Nets Flash card
I ordered 2 Nets Flash card and 1 Ez Link card online. They arrived.

I downloaded the Nets app. I had trouble with registering my 16 digit CAN number.

I called the Nets call center. I had the same bad experience in getting through the contact center to talk to an officer.

After trying several times, I managed to speak to an officer. He told me that there is no need to register a Nets Flash card. The registration was needed for the pre-paid card.

Why this complication?

On my asking, he said that I can top up the card at MRT station or online. There is no charge. If I top up at a petrol station or convenience store, I have to pay a fee of $0.50.

I went to the app to top up $50. I have to enter my credit card number. I used a DBS credit card. They rejected the card several times. They said that I have to use an approved card. I checked the instruction. DBS was approved.

I also found that there was a top up fee of $0.50 (contrary to what the Nets officer told me). If the top up went through (which it did not), I would have to pay the fee of $0.50.

Why is the officer not giving the correct information.

I now understand why customers do not pay with the Nets Flash card. They have to pay a fee for top up of $0.50. They have to face many obstacles. They app is confusing.

They should allow me to top up using bank transfer, e.g. Pay Now, and bypass the top up fee charged by the credit card.

They should also provide a separate app for Nets Prepaid and Nets Flash, so that the customer is not confused.
