Does TKL delete comments that disagree with his view?
Z: Mr. Tan, many people say that you are autocratic and delete comments from your FB that you disagree with.
TKL: Oh, is it? I am not able to control what other people think.
Z: Do you delete comments that you disagree with and ban these people?
TKL: I do not delete comments that I disagree with.
Z: I have some of my comments deleted before.
TKL: I delete comments that are frivolous and malicious, i.e.
- comments that are rude, arrogant or personal.
- long comments copied from from questionable sources, i.e. misinformation.
- comments that are not related to the topics of the post.
Rude comments are those that do show disrespect towards my view.
Arrogant comments are those that declare my views to be wrong and that they are right
Personal comments are those that pass their judgment on me, often in a rude manner.
Z: You have also been rude to other people by calling them "idiots".
TKL: I am generally polite to other people. If I disagree with their view, I express my own view and explain with my facts.
I may describe a class of people as "idiots", but I usually do not attribute it to any particular person. I am not personal.
However, if someone insists to be called an "idiot" by acting repeatedly in a rude and arrogant manner, I will acknowledge them with the title. But I find it unpleasant and avoid doing it.
Z: I have some of my comments deleted, although they do not fall under the category that you described.
TKL: I do not keep track of all the rubbish that I deleted. But sometimes, I delete good comments by mistake. If so, feel free to repost them again.
End of conversation.
Vote - do you agree with my approach?
