Covid-19 crisis Key indicators of the covid situation
There are five important indicators of the covid situation:

a) New cases
b) New hospital admissions
c) Number in hospital
d) Number in intensive care
e) New deaths

The Ministry of Health provide four figures, except for (b). 

The number provided under (a) is unreliable, as it depends on the testing being carried out - the more test, the more cases are detected.  Furthermore, it depends on whether asymptomatic cases are counted or not.

Instead of (a), it is better to focus on (b), as it reflects the new cases that have reached a stage that requires treatment. Indeed (b) is more important and more reliable than (a).

Strangely, the Ministry of Health in Singapore does not provide the figure for (b).

This makes it difficult to monitor the trend in Singapore.
