Out of the box Do not be dismissive
I discussed with a friend about the problem of how some countries deal with the problem of unemployed people, especially among the youths.

I suggested that a good approach is to reduce the working hours, so that the available productive work is shared among the available workers and that every one is employed but work less hours. 

He did not listen to my view. He replied - this is a micro issue. I prefer to focus on the macro solution. I have worked in an international development agency and have experienced in advising national governments about economic developments. 

I told him - Can you check the definition of macro and micro issues? I consider my approach to be a macro approach. You appear to be dismissive towards my suggestion.

I checked Google and found this definition of macro and micro strategy. My uncommon sense appears to be correct .

My friend is disturbed that I consider his response to be dismissive. He suggested that I was taking the matter personally. 

I do not wish to argue with him. Anyway, this is not important.
