Test positive rate - trend in Singapore
I obtained the data of the tests carried out and the number of cases reported each week.

The data have been smoothed for the week.

I compute the test positive rate as shown in the table below.

The test positive rate was below 1% up to 9 Sep 2021. It increased weekly to a high of 15% on 28 Oct.

It seemed strange that the increase was at a steady pace week on week.

The cases have dropped sharply from November. I do not have the test figures for this period. I suspect that the drop is due to lower testings and not a decline in the proportion of the population that has been infected.

Perhaps the test positive rate remained at 15%.

A high proportion of the cases are mild or asymptomatic.

A usual statistic is the number of people who are sick and are admitted into hospital each day for treatment of covid.

This useful data is not available.
