Covid-19 crisis

Looking after the interest of citizens in reopening the border?
Mr Tan
There seems a public perception that there is a careless attitude towards the vulnerable and the elderly in our community among our highly paid authorities.

We all acknowledge that we cannot or never can completely cure everyone of all diseases or elevate the many out of poverty.
However, the relentless pursuit of economy gain is readily evident with the repeated mantra "unless we open up, we all die".

Everything else seems secondary including the distress and suffering of those inflicted with Covid, the constant change of restrictions, the daily double digit deaths and etc.

If the genuine intention is to protect our elderly from Covid by vaccination, it seems to be rather a poor effort on the part of our authorities. Our authorities could spent more than a billion to house and protect our foreign workers in dormitories during this pandemic.

Our authorities did such a fantastic job in arousing the public soft side towards the foreign workers, we witness constantly individuals citizens offering food / drinks to random foreign workers.

The contrast in spending and effort is really telling.
I am guessing when asked in parliament: "hawker centre, kopitam or restaurant", "send our old folks to JB", "all schools are good schools", etc, does point to general direction of our nation.
Mr Tan do you think we should have a less cold robotic parliament and more of a compassionate parliament?

TKL replied.
Shhhh. I agree with the steps taken to open the border and the economy.
The elderly and vulnerable, including TKL, should take measures to avoid infection, like wear a mask, safe distancing, wash hands. Stay at home, if possible.
Many MPs sleep in Parliament. If they are awake, they don't hear anyway. Mostly deaf.

They do listen but they have to watch their backsides (salaries, rice bowls) first before saying anything

I do not think PAP cares about Singaporeans. I think PAP is an anti-Singaporean political party.
