Why the unvaccinated should not be restricted
The MTF (ministerial task force) decided to place restriction on the unvaccinated from visiting restaurants and malls.

I consider the restriction to be counter productive.

Why?

It imposed a heavy burden on the food outlets and malls. They have to employ workers to check all customers that enter the premises.

The verification caused problems to all customers, including the vaccinated. Each person needs to be checked several times a day.

The verification takes time. This causes a queue and delay on entry.

The unvaccinated needs to enter the malls to visit a medical clinic or to bring children to the education centers. They are prevented from entry unless they take a test. This creates additional problems.

The cost of implementing this differentiation is high.

Is there a need for this restriction on the unvaccinated?

Most people think that it will reduce the risk of spreading the infection.

I disagree for these reasons:

a) In most cases, the risk of the infection is mild. The vaccines does not stop the spread. Many of the vaccinated are infected and could spread the infection.

b) The unvaccinated are at higher risk of being infected and falling severely sick. They are likely to take the precautions, i.e. by wearing a mask and observing the safe distancing measures.

c) The vaccines give a high degree of protection, so the vaccinated are at low risk.

d) In the endemic phase, the experts say that every person will eventually be infected.

Hence the risk of allowing the unvaccinated to enjoy the same treatment as the vaccinated is not great.

I hold the view that it is counter productive to introduce the restriction on the unvaccinated.
