SIA has problems with its website or a decade
Singapore Airlines website has been giving problems for more than a decade.

It keeps breaking down when a new process is introduced, or the traffic increases.

Their booking process is complicated.

They need to simplify their process and deal with the underlying problem.

Here is their latest technical issue

I have written to SIA in the past giving my suggestion on how to solve this problem. They gave me a polite acknowledgment but apparently ignore it.

My email to their CEO went unacknowledged.

When SIA was doing well, as was the case in the past, they can afford to continue their inefficient ways and ignore their customers.

Times have changed. SIA is now fighting for its survival. They cannot leave their problems unresolved.

What was my suggestion?

I said - build a second website, that is simplified and light weight. Give the customer the choice to use the existing website (which is full functioned, but quite troublesome to use) or to use the new website.

If the customer can get their simple transactions completed in the alternative website, they will probably be happy with it.

If they have complicated requirements and need to go to the main website, it will still be available.

Are there issues involved in managing two websites?

There will be, but this should not be a major stumbling block. There should be a simple way to address these issues.

I cannot give the answer now to a problem that is not well defined now, but I can only give a general answer - it is not a major issue.

I hope that SIA will now be in a listening mood.
