Covid-19 crisis Comparison of infections and deaths - by countries, 25 Sep 2021
The table below compares the infections and deaths for the past 7 days, per million of population for selected countries.

Malaysia has the highest death rate. 

Five countries have a death rate for 7 days between 2 to 4 per million - Indonesia (4), Japan (3), Australia (3), Singapore (2), India (2).

Four countries have a death rate below 1 - S Korea (0.9), Taiwan (0.1), Hong Kong (0), New Zealand (0).

A surprising feature is that the death rate of Indonesia and India have declined to low levels.

Singapore has a high infection rate of 1,477 (which is the second highest among the countries), but the death rate is quite modest. 

This suggest that Singapore carries out much more testing, compared to the other countries.
