How to operate LRT service more efficiently

Difference between MRT, LRT

1. On average, the distance between MRT stations is 2 km, LRT stations is 0.4 km.

2. Due to the short distance between LRT stations, the speed of LRT has to be slower than MRT.

3 With the slow speed, it is possible to reduce the interval between the arriving LRT trains to 1 min or less.

4. We need to increase the frequency of the LRT trains, so that commuters will prefer to use it (due to shorter waiting time). We can reduce the number of buses that serve the same area.

5. It is cheaper to operate LRT trains, compared to buses, as the LRT trains do not require a driver.

6. Instead of spending money to buy more buses, we should spend the money to buy more trains (and choose the reliable models that do not break down often).
