Efficacy of Sinovac vaccine - Thailand

This report in the Straits Times, which quoted a source in Thailand, suggest that the Sinovac vaccine is not effective.

We should not make any hasty conclusion yet. 670,000 medical personnel were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine. 600 were infected. That represents only 1 in 1,000. Surely, it is very low?

We know that vaccines are not 100% effective against infection, but is likely to prevent deaths.

The report said that 1 nurse had died and another is in critical condition. That number is still quite low.

We should wait for data before jumping to any conclusion.

I am disappointed that the Straits Times do not point out the common sense observations. They give the same impression that the Sinovac vaccine is not effective.

We should also pay attention to the data from other countries that uses the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. I believe that they also have infection cases from the vaccinated people and some of them might have died also.

Maybe, we should look at the conclusion from the World Health Organization. They are more likely to be fairer in their assessment.
