Giving financial assistance using digital platform
I posted an article stating that 400 million people in India was able to receive financial assistance in e-wallet. India had registered these people earlier for "financial inclusion". The thumb prints of the account holder is captured for digital identification.
Someone posted a negative comment to my post. He said that this information is not reliable as many of the people are poor and do not have access to a mobile phone.
I prefer to look at this issue from a positive angle. Perhaps more than 80% have a mobile phone and can access the financial assistance.
For the minority that do not have a mobile phone, they can get a family member or friend to access the fund for them.
I commend India for this impressive initiative to register a large proportion of their population in the digital economy.
Many advanced economies, including America and Singapore, are still using paper documents to transfer financial credits to their recipients.
These advanced economies should embark on the transformation to a digital economy
