Lee HL should seize this golden opportunity to build good ties with Dr. Mahathir.

He should call him by telephone and talk to him about the penalty for canceling the High Speed Rail contract. 

He can offer to waive the penalty. No need to ask for a package deal. Just show a gesture of goodwill. 

It will pay back many times in terms of good will.

We can afford to forgo RM 500 million. Just don't spend too much money on expensive trains and bin centers.
