Ministry of Home Affairs
Police access to Trace Together data
It was unwise (I would not say "stupid") for this minister of state to make this statement and cause alarm about the privacy of the Trace Together data.
Why?
The MOS should know that the TT data would be of no use. Furthermore, the power given to the Police to gather evidence applies to many documents and data that are found in all kinds of devices - mostly on personal computers.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is allowed to obtain data from TraceTogether, the country's COVID-19 contact-tracing technology, for criminal investigations, Minister of State for Home Affairs Desmond Tan said in Parliament on Monday (Jan 4).
In reply to a question by MP Christopher de Souza, Mr Tan said that, under the Criminal Procedure Code, SPF is empowered to obtain any data, including TraceTogether data. He added that "stringent measures are put in place to safeguard this personal data". https://cna.asia/3b4mGeB
