Messy implementation of Trace Together
The govt wanted to make it compulsory for Trace Together tokens or apps to be used for entry into malls and public places in December.

This has not been implemented yet. Many malls still allow entry using the Safe Entry QR code or scanning of bar codes.

I suspect that the implementation of the new regulation has encountered problems. I will call it "a mess".

Here are some of the issues:

* Distribution of the TT tokens have encountered problems. Some TT tokens are not available.
* The safe entry ambassadors at some malls are not able the QR code on the tokens. They can read bar codes.

What is the way out of this mess?

Here is how I would implement this change.

* The TT tokens (and apps) are sufficient for contact tracing.
* The Safe Entry recording can be discontinued (i.e. it is actually quite useless).
* The mall visitors can show their TT tokens or apps for entry into the malls and other public places. If they do not have the TT token/app, they can be reminded.
* I will develop a light weight TT app that can be downloaded to the mobile phone. It will behave like the TT token. The holder only need to register the name and mobile number.

It is messy to continue the Safe Entry recording with the TT token. The people in charge missed the opportunity of streamlining the process.

If they are humble, they will change now and solve the mess within the next few weeks.

If they are arrogant, the mess will continue for a few months and the project will be finally abandoned (i.e. another failure).
