Time to have a minimum wage
I do not understand why union leaders should object to the proposal of a minimum wage of $1,300 a month. If they think that the minimum wage should be higher, why not propose that higher figure?

There must be some workers who now learn less than 1,300 a month. Surely these workers will benefit from their implementation of the minimum wage?

I do not understand the argument that a minimum wage of $1,300 will depress the wages of workers will now earn above that figure.

Surely the minimum wage work the other way to raise those who earn less, rather than to bring down the wages of those who earn more?

I get confused from time to time with this kind of convoluted argument which appears to be quite prevalent in Singapore. Are Singaporeans that illogical?

Maybe this is a disease that comes after being brainwashed by pap for so many decades?
