My approach towards Safe Entry
I show my senior citizen transit card for Safe Entry. The reader scans the bar code on my card.

I avoid using the Safe Entry app. It can be troublesome when the internet connection is weak. Some of the QR readers interfere with advertisements.

I do not scan Safe Entry at unmanned outlets. I think it is troublesome and useless. It is a waste of time.

Over 90% of the public do not scan their safe entry at unmanned locations. It is a farce. The people in charge want to delude themselves that they are doing the right thing - i.e. creating nonsense for the public to follow. Okay, I let them delude themselves.

It is insane for the ministers to expect the public to participate in the safe entry scanning when they can be sent for 14 days quarantine on the supposed to be exposed to an infected person. Are they compensated for the loss of income for the quarantine period?

The Trace Together token in another farce. It is a hassle and will not work. Most people will abandon it after a while.

We need a sane approach towards the safe entry operation. Here are my suggestions:

a) Provide unmanned stations for the public to scan their ID card (that has the bar code of their NRIC number) and have the temperature recorded.

b) If the public is quarantine due to exposure to an infected person, they will be adequately compensated for the loss of income during the quarantine period. They will also get a free covid-19 test to make sure that they are safe.

Under my approach, most people will be willing to record their safe entry at the unmanned stations. The entire operation will cost less and will yield better results.

Do you agree?
