Economy after the pandemic

Changing to a new lifestyle
The circuit breaker caused people to work from home and children to use home based learning. People also get familiar with ordering food to be delivered to the home.

After the pandemic, I expect the following change to the lifestypes in Singapore.

a) More people will continue to work from home
b) Some of the learning can be done at home
c) The food delivery business will continue.

One possible outcome is - work or study 1 or 2 days from home and come to the office or school on the other days.  The office and school schedules will be adjusted to achieve the same or higher level of productivity.

This will reduce the travel time and congestion on the road. It can lead to a better quality of life.

Singapore has the advantage of learning how to adjust to this change in lifestyle. Our excellent internet infrastructure and educated workforce and children can make the transition.

We may be able to provide online teaching to people in other countries. We can share experience with them on the use of e-commerce and logistics.

I hope that we can make this transition. We need to change and learn to change. We cannot stick to the old ways.
