Covid-19 crisis

No need to worry excessively about the spread of the virus during the incubation period
There is no need to worry excessively about the spread of the virus during the incubation period. The spread is quite low. In most cases, the infection is mild.

Why do I say so? There must be several thousand visitors from Wuhan and Hubei in Singapore during the past two months. Many of them might have the virus. But we did not get an uncontrolled spread of the virus. We did not carry out contact tracing of these unknown cases. But we know that only a small handful of people were infected.

Most of the infected cases that were detected turn out to be mild.

There were a few cases of infection during the incubation period. Yes, it is possible for the virus to spread before the symptoms appear. But it does seem to be affecting only a handful of people, rather than all of the people that were contacted.

I have watched many videos from medical sources. One of them said that the infection rate is more serious after the symptoms appear. I believe that this is likely to be the case.

Let us put more attention to identifying the infected people when the symptoms appear, rather than worry too much about the infection during the incubation period (which is likely to be low).

I suggest that every person should be screened at least once every three days at 1,000 convenient locations (i.e. MRT stations, bus interchanges, malls, markets etc) managed by a central agency.

If we can catch the infected people at that time, we can manage the epidemic better than the ineffective activities under Dorscon Orange.
