Covid-19 crisis

Why the spread of covid-19 is slow in Singapore

I urge Singaporeans to think rationally. We have 85 covid-19 cases in Singapore.

Were all of these people identified early? No! Some of them came from Wuhan and Hubei and has been around for a while. They must have contacted many people in the hotel, shops, taxis and public transport, but the virus did not transmit.

What about other visitors from Wuhan and Hubei that were not identified. There must be many more of them.

If there virus is so contagious and deadly, we should by now have many deaths. We have not.

My common sense tells me:

a) Not every infected person is a spreader.
b) Not every contacted person gets the virus
c) The virus spreads less in warm climate.

Yes, they will be some spread of the virus, but it will not be at any alarming rate in a warm climate. It may be more serious in a cold climate.

I do not think we need to be alarmed and do the stupid contact tracing mandated by GKY's code Orange.

Take it easy. Don't be alarmed. If you are afraid of dying, watch out for the traffic and don't look at your mobile phone when you are on the road, ok?
