Covid-19 crisis

Do not issue code Orange next time!
The health minister issued code Orange and caused the following outcomes:

a) There was panic with the public at large rushing to stock up food and other supplies.
b) Many workplaces have to set aside many workers to do temperature scanning and collect data for contract tracing
c) Some countries started to impose restrictions on travel to and from Singapore.

Instead of issuing code Orange, the health minister could have taken the following steps:

a) Implement temperature scanning at all public places to identify people with fever and send them to specially equipped clinics for further treatment.
b) Provide hand sanitizers at public places and engage workers to keep them refilled.

My suggested approach will cost much less to the country and probably deal with the problem better. It will not lead to the panic and wasteful use of manpower that code Orange had caused.

Hello, health minister. Get rid of your code Orange, OK? There is a better way to deal with the challenge.
