Japanese have a different way to manage their hotels
I am now staying at the Royal Nikko Hotel in Taipei. It is a Japanese brand hotel and runs along Japanese way.

I share these interesting experiences.

They have a door man to open the door and greet the guests. Apart from being polite, they are ready to give information and guidance. It is useful to guests.

They offer Wifi without any password in the lobby. This is an excellent service. The Wifi in the guest room requires a password, but it is a standard password printed in the key card given to the guest.

Why create work for their front desk workers to give passwords to guests? Even if an outsider use the WiFi in the hotel, how much does the hotel loses in revenue? None at all!

There is no need to have RFID to operate the lifts to the respective floors. Why create trouble for the guests to tap their room keys at the lifts?

If strangers go up to the upper floors, they will not be able to enter the rooms without the key. If they loiter in the upper floors, they can be observed by security officers on the CCTV cameras.

It is incredible that many hotels create security systems that are costly, troublesome and unnecessary.

Thank you, Royal Nikko, for showing how to use common sense.
