Adversarial politics is bad for Singapore
DPM Heng SK said that adversarial politics is bad for Singapore. I agree with this view.

However, one track PAP politics is equally harmful.

What is the alternative?

We need a more open and transparent political system. We have to identify our challenges, study various options and select the option that seems to work best.

We have to try it out and monitor the results. If the option is wrong, we have to be prepared to change it.

The one track PAP system does not have the above elements. It is decided by people who work in a non-transparent way. Even if there is a mistake, nobody wants to recognize it. They keep trying to justify their approach.

In selecting the best approach, we have to get away from politics. It does not matter who comes out with the solution. All options should be welcomed.

A good leader is one who can take the best idea and make it work. It does not matter who provides that idea. A good leader should not have the "them" or "us" mentality.

So, if adversarial politics is bad for Singapore, so is the one track PAP approach.

We need to adopt a more transparent approach and a more adaptive approach.

Vote - do you agree with the transparent and adaptive approach?
