Ideal 3
I used DBS Ideal 3 to make a payment under my corporate account. It was confusing with many payment options.
I chose an option to pay a third party. I was given the choice of FAST, MEPS and GIRO. GIRO did not work.
I chose MEPS. There was a mention about a separate charge by DBS. It did not show what the charge was.
I searched online for the MEPS charge. It did not indicate the amount. The information was hidden. I chose MEPS. I received an email that the charge was $18. It was exorbitant.
I called DBS hotline to lodge a complaint. The staff will submit an appeal to reverse the charge and convert it to a FAST charge of $0.50.
I also gave a feedback. They should show their charges in Ideal 3, so that the customer knows what the charges are.
If Singapore is going to encourage businesses to use electronic transfer, instead of writing checks, DBS has to show the lead and make it easy for their customers.
