Covid-19 crisis
What is the impact of coronavirus being airborne?
There is a post that the coronavirus is now airborne. The experts said that the spread through surface contact is more active than the airborne virus.
There is no need to panic. Seasonal flu is also airborne.
Even if there are more people (currently 45) who are infected in Singapore, there is no need for alarm. In most cases, the infected people will be cured. Even if some of them have severe illness, it may not be fatal.
PM Lee said that the risk of fatality outside of Hubei, China is 0.2%. It affects mainly the older and frail people. Younger people have a low risk.
It may get worse, but for the time being, there is no evidence of that trend, to cause alarm in Singapore. There is no need to speculate and project the worse.
There is no need for excessive measures that will worsen the economic slowdown. There is no need to spend 1 hour to queue for temperature checks.
If some people feel safer to wear a mask, go ahead. Do what you think is necessary.
But I am still going around without a mask. I do not want anybody to criticize me for my decision or to suggest that I am not socially responsible. They have to be mindful of their words and stop being judgmental (like an idiot).
