Basic thinking skills to educate the electorate
I share this contribution by an anonymous person. I suspect that he wants the electorate to be thinking and not fooled by the PAP.

1.Ad Hominem attack
eg Chiam See Tong's 'O' Level results: "6 credits, one pass"

This is an example of an ad hominem attack. It has no relevance on the character of Chiam See Tong. Nor does it correlate it any way to Chiam See Tong's sincerity and desire to serve Singaporeans

2. The Straw man mis-direction

Example: "Constructive criticism"

There are only 2 types of criticism.
- valid criticism which is based on evidence
- invalid criticism which is based on falsehood

It is perfectly okay to provide valid criticism without being "constructive".

The job of the Opposition parties is to provide valid criticism of PAP policies. The Opposition does not need to be "constructive" by also providing an alternative solution.

The PAP government has all the government resources to look for a "constructive" solution. That is the PAP's job. They are paid million dollar salaries to come up with "constructive" solutions.

"Constructive criticism" is a strawman.
- it is designed to trick you into not talking about the falsehood that you have uncovered or exposed.

3. "Assertions made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence." - Christopher Hitchens

EXAMPLE
"Hard truths to keep Singapore going"

- where is the evidence that these assertions are true or factual?
- where is the evidence to prove the "cause and effect" .... that these unproven assertions  will cause Singapore to keep going?
- and where exactly is Singapore supposed to "keep going" to?

Vote - do you agree with his perspective?
